‘I’m Smoking on that Joe Burrow’: Patrick Mahomes Sr. Mocks the Bengals as he Puffs on a Victory Cigar

Patrick Mahomes Sr. celebrated his son’s win with the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game Sunday with a victory cigar.  The Chiefs punched their ticket to Super Bowl 2023 in the dying seconds of the AFC title clash by beating the Cincinnati Bengals in a narrow 23-20 win.  In the buildup to the clash, the Bengals and their fans, including Cincinnati’s mayor, had been full of trash talk.

But it was the Chiefs who left Arrowhead with the bragging rights and they made sure to throw the Bengals’ trolling back in their faces.  Former MLB pitcher Mahomes Sr. got in on the postgame fun as he was seen smoking a victory cigar on his daughter-in-law Brittany Mahomes’ Instagram story as they kickstarted the celebrations.

Brittany, who is married to the Chiefs quarterback and shares two children with him, shared a clip of Mahomes Sr. lighting the cigar in their private suite.  She pinned the location as ‘Burrowhead’ – the nickname the Bengals had been calling Arrowhead Stadium in reference to Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow’s former 3-0 record in Kansas City.

‘Light that s***, baby, light it,’ Brittany can be heard screaming in the video, while Mahomes’ brother Jackson could be seen hugging his dad from behind.  ‘That’s my God damn son,’ Mahomes Sr., 52, said in a separate video shared by his daughter-in-law.  They eventually made their way down to the field to continue the celebrations, where Mahomes Sr. was asked about his cigar.

‘I’m smoking on the Joe Burrow,’ Pat said in reference to the Bengals quarterback, who is widely known for his post-victory cigar.  ‘It feels great [to be headed back to the Super Bowl]. My baby boy did what he always do, he’s gonna show up and show out and I’m just glad he did it.’  The Mahomes family then continued the party on a private bus as the quarterback’s marketing agent, Jacquelyn Dahl, shared a photo of the Chiefs star and Brittany

The 27-year-old player was seen clutching a Coors Light while his wife posed with a BioSteel drink — the sports nutrition company that Mahomes became a partner with in 2020.  The celebrations later moved to an after party with music by DJ EV, according to Jackson Mahomes’ Instagram Story, while Brittany shared a boomerang clip doing shots.  The Chiefs will now battle the Philadelphia Eagles for the Lombardi Trophy at State Farm Stadium in Arizona on February 12.
