Patrick Mahomes basked in the glory of his conquest in style. Hours after winning the Super Bowl, the QB was California-bound. While Mahomes missed Rihanna’s halftime show, he made up for it with his elaborate celebration. He also joined the Jimmy Kimmel Show on the same night. However, when asked about Rihanna naming her kid after the QB’s name, Patrick Mahomes had a stern reply.

The Chiefs QB and his family headed to Disneyland followed by a quick stop at ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live.’ It’s not often that fans get to witness a Super Bowl-winning quarterback make it to late-night television hours after winning the title. But Mahomes is unlike others in many ways. The easygoing QB took center stage and gained some laughs with his quips related to Rihanna’s pregnancy. So, what did Mahomes say?

Patrick Mahomes doesn’t want to share his name with anyone except for one special person

Mahomes, who couldn’t witness the show, was quick to remind Kimmel someone very important had already taken his name.

He said, “My name is taken by my son, Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III, so I don’t know if that name is still allowed.” He laughingly added, “She’ll have to think of another one.” Patrick and Brittany Mahomes are the parents of two children, a daughter Sterling and a son, Bronze. The QB’s son takes after his father with regard to his name. The couple often takes to social media to give fans a sneak peek into all the shenanigans that occur in the Mahomes family.

Mahomes and the Chiefs have a vision

In the last five years, the Kansas City Chiefs have made it to the Super Bowl three times. Taking home the Vince Lombardi trophy on two occasions, Andy Reid and the Chiefs are steadily building a dynasty. Post the Belichick-Brady Patriots dynasty, the NFL hasn’t seen much of another. But the Chiefs are hoping to change that.

On the other hand, the league is slowly being taken over by dynamic young QBs who are aiming for greatness. Patrick Mahomes will find that his aim for supremacy will be challenged by many. Can the Chiefs continue to extend their dominance in the seasons to come? That’s a question to which the answer will present itself in due time.
